In 2024, Studio Ghibli became the first and only production company to receive an honorary Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival, and The Boy and the Heron, Miyazaki’s triumphant return to directing after a 10 year absence, earned the studio its second Academy Award® for Best Animated Feature.
